a poem (based on John Noble's painting of the same name)
A ship on an oily seatrudges to its peak
on the crest of the wave,
a rare, beautiful hill
in the prairie of the ocean.
It may fly triumphantly
like the breeching whale,
the Sea's Soverign.
Or perhaps it will simply fall,
a glass-eyed tuna destined for nothing.
Nothing at all.
